i changed url http://www.example.com http://example.com expecting time google update. made redirects in .htaccess www traffic non-www traffic.

however still see est. 2500 links in google using www after 2 month , of them outdated links means user ending on frontpage.

i considering request google remove http://www. links solve 404 problem.

but recommended , how do it?

have tried setting preferred domain in google webmaster tools account?
