elasticsearch - What is the use of mapping fields with "type" : "token_count" and does it help in getting better results? -

what mapping field "type" : "token_count" used for? have gathered stores number of tokens in string rather string fail realize why of importance, because storing number of tokens in string instead of string beats point of search. have been looking @ wrong way or there missing?
